So where's the raw images repository? Arizona website? I know: it'll take a bit.

Edit: gallery has first ones.

ToSeek,

Thanks. You can copy my list and use it if you wish. Just in case some people can't get one of the feeds, maybe they can get one of the others. This is very exciting.

Surface looks somewhat lumpy, gentle bumps out to the horizon, has a general look of a surface that has the kind of history you'd expect in a polar region.

There's some striations in this image:

From the right center to the bottom of the image.

Slickensides, maybe?

NASA TV graphic says there is a press briefing coming up. Through the magic of Tivo I listened again and caught that the briefing will be at 9 PM Pacific time.

Edited to say, "Doh!" ToSeek already had the time for the briefing tonight. The briefing tomorrow is at 11 AM Pacific (again, thanks to Tivo).

I think I've got the Google Mars Map location from initial official latitude and longitude (68.22 degrees latitude and 234.3 degrees longitude).

It wasn't much different from the original Google Mars Map I provided as a guess days ago (68.35 degrees latitude and 233 degrees longitude).

Tonight and tomorrow and beyond...

From the Phoenix landing events schedule (times PDT, Earth-receive time):
-- News briefing, 9 p.m.

Monday, May 26
-- News briefing, 11 a.m.

Tuesday, May 27, through Friday, May 30
Daily news briefings at 11 a.m.

Anticipated pace of Mars surface operations
-- If operations proceed relatively smoothly, the first eight to 10 days after landing will be a "characterization phase" of checking out and understanding the performance of the spacecraft's power and thermal systems, as well as the robotic arm and other instruments.
-- At the end of the characterization phase (date tba), the first sample of surface soil will be delivered to the Thermal and Evolved-Gas Analyzer onboard Phoenix.
-- Analysis of soil from the surface in both the Thermal and Evolved-Gas Analyzer and in the Microscopy, Electrochemistry and Conductivity Analyzer will likely take 10 to 15 days if all processes go well. After that, each additional sampling cycle will reach a deeper subsurface level, in increments of about two to three centimeters. At each different layer, collecting and analyzing samples is expected to take 10 to 15 days, barring operational difficulties.
-- How soon the digging reaches the expected icy layer will depend on how far below the surface that layer lies. Estimates in advance of landing range from two to five centimeters. If the ice is at the deeper end of that range, the first analysis of an icy sample could be in July or later.

The folks on UMSF are looking at that and talking about thruster exhaust effects.

One minute to start Mars Express playback.

(At UnmannedSpaceflight, someone mentioned and confirmed MRO was going to try to take EDL images. More likely to not succeed, but wouldn't the entry streak fom above look cool? Keep fingers crossed.)
Was there any word on this? Did they get any images?

Probably too soon to say. MRO downlinked some data, but it was data received from Phoenix during the EDL and stored onboard MRO. With all that's going on with Phoenix, it might take a couple of days before there's no longer higher-priority stuff than MRO imagery.

The Phoenix web server seems to be getting hammered right now, so I've modified all hotlinked images in this thread to be links. Please don't hotlink any more images.
