I want to see something like this before I kick the bucket...
http://www.planetary.org/image/EPOCh_Earth-Moon.jpg ... but with extrasolar planet instead. Only 2-3 decades and technology, swarms of interferometry spaceships and photos will be there! Or this is unrealistic expectation? |

I think a picture like that--though marvelous--is probably not much closer than midcentury. However, I'm crossing my fingers that we'll see an unambiguous Earthlike (in the broadest sense, an Earth-mass planet with a clear water signature in a star's habitable zone) before 2025.
