Default Venus and Jupiter's Upcoming Conjunction

SUMMARY: As the Earth rushes to the point in its orbit known as the Winter Solstice, those in the Northern hemisphere see the days getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. This is good news for sky watchers, especially those willing to rise before dawn. This November offers a chance to witness a beautiful and somewhat rare sight, a close conjunction between the planets Venus and Jupiter.

I wish more people knew this info. The fact that this conjunction occurred in 3 BC in the month of August is very important. This is proof of the time of Jesus Christ's birth. More people need to know that Jesus wasn't born in December.

Well, it is only one of many theories about the star of bethlehem. And it is not really sure wheter it existed at all, as only one book in the bible mentiones it, Matthew 2: 1-2.

Welcome to the forum, mitzimesser.

There have been several discussions here in the past about the Star of Bethlehem, such as this.

I would like to emphasize though that we have very specific guidelines in our forum rules concerning the discussion of religion.

My favorite is on page two

Don't some of the theories have the birthdate about now, March? (That reminds me, happy birthday Albert)

Fraser,
I read and enjoyed the article. Just wish I had come upon it earlier so I could have been looking for the conjunction....It would have been great to see one! Especially as close as Jupiter an Venus were.
