Welcome to the newest of you, as well as returnees from times past.

I agree with alfchemist about Sunstar's picture. I think she ought to make it her avitar. Very cool.

A big hi to everyone im new on here

Well my names Martin Hall and i,ve been recieving Frazers excellent Universe today email for sometime now but i,ve only just got around to joining the forum after having a nose around.I live in a town called Whittlesey about seven miles away from the heavyly light polluted city of Peterborough here in the UK but still manage to do quite a bit of observing.I,ve been a space nut ever since seeing that picture of Buzz Aldrin standing on the surface of the Moon in a magazine way back in 1977 and i,ve been hooked ever since.I,ve just recently finished building my observatory in my backyard and have just brought a Celestron C8-N reflector.Im a member of two local societies the Peterborough Astronomical Society and the South Lincs Astro Society.Im also a member of the British Astronomical Association

I hope to be asking lots of questions on here

Clear skies to all

Hi all

My name is Paulo heleno, and I am writing from Portugal.
I am an amateur astronomer, with special tastes for all topics concerning space weather, meteors and meteorites. I currently dont do field observation due to my father having a cancerous desease, but I try to keep myself update, at least in theoretical terms, making use of my past experience in observation.
I plan to resume field observation in full some day
I have a astronomy website for portuguese community called Astroescuta which has in it the universetoday newsletter. Im quite happy with it.
Thats all for today

Clear skies to all

Hi, Henry from Birmingham, England (don't talk to me about light pollution)
Great site and forums - took me 3 hours last night to read all the 'space and astronomy Q & A' pages - but loved it all. Fancied entering my favourite planet etc but have nothing new to add.
Look forward to future readings.

Hello folks.

Stewart from Acrington, Lancashire . United Kingdom.

I read UT every day. it's a fine publication.
I follow the forum, as an amateur astronomer, but am scared as to where to post my posts

I.E. we have amateurs with small scopes (me) to professionals with technology/ insight far greater than the man on the street.

Suggestion (begging to folks in moderator land) Why not make a league in Universe Today....where folks can enter at their capability level, and once confident, move on to other things/ topics.

Thoughts please....

It would make me contribute more
