I received an email that declared I asked to change my password. I didn't do anything like that. Need to know if this is happening to anyone else. I'm wondering if:

It's a ploy by some hacker fishing for passwords.

OR

It's an automatic function of this system.

In hopes of secure surfing in the next year....

It should happen once at the beginning when you sign up. Since that was back in July, it shouldn't have happened again. What probably happened is that someone else tried to use your login name, and throught they might have signed up earlier.

Its quite simple to avoid phishing though, at least in its most basic form, never enter your login details in any email you receive from anyone purporting to be somewhere that would have your details. Always go direct to the secure site! I think it comes back simply to being a matter of habit in the end.
