I've processed a bunch of new space-related photos that you can use as your avatar. That's that little square picture over on the side of people's postings.

If you want to change your avatar, click on "My Controls", which is up near the top of this page.

Then click "Edit Avatar Settings" over on the left menu. Then you choose the "space" gallery from the Pre-Installed Avatars. You should be able to navigate through the rest of it.

Hopefully that'll give everyone a more spacey look to their profiles. You can always use a custom picture if you like. And if anyone needs a photo resized for them, just email it to me at info@universetoday.com, and I'd be happy to crop it down for you.

How about more smilies as well. Some additional expressions would be nice. :P

I looked at the new avatars...how'd you get 'em? I've been trying to download this nice picture on quantumaetherdynamics.com as my avatar, yet I haven't figured out yet HOW...how do I do it, Fraser?

Under the avatars section, one of the choices is to upload an image that will be your avatar. You need to resize it to be 64x64 pixels. That's the part that a lot of people will have trouble doing.

That's nice, Fraser-

But let's say that I change it's size on Microsoft Word (an easy task). What do I do from there to get it onto universe today as my avatar?

You can also make your own. That is what I did. I now have the best avatar here.

LOL Algenon - maybe we should have an avatar competition?

I think that while your idea isnīt bad Dips, I donīt think we will have a winner because each & every one of us thinks his/her avatar is the best - like mine is!!! :P

Fraser, Iīve taken a look at your new space gallery of avatars & I think they really are great!! I notice that I already have a lot of them saved on my computer, from my travels around the Internet! My avatar of Mars came originally from the Internet, most likely from NASAīs Mars Roversī site, I donīt remember now. Iīm glad I donīt have to choose one now or I would never get one as I would be too undecided to know which one to choose! Iīd rather have them all!!! :P (a case of having your cake & eating it, I suppose!)
