I think we the Admins here should add a Posting Pictures forum on the site. i think it would be a very good turnout as far as pictures related to space taken by our members here.

What does everyone think?

I am not sure exactly what you are talking about, but from the sound of it, what you are requesting, we already have.

Hi SpockJim,

There is currently an Astrophotography Forum already up and running. In that Forum Universe Today members post their own pictures - some of which have been published in the Universe Today newsletter. You should go and check it out. There are some truly magnificent and awe inspiring photos!

UT Astrophotography Forum

Enjoy,

Josh

spoke jim wants to speak in pictures only? if so, i mean his idea is great to converse in the forum through the pictures, but for the imaginary pictures to post on the forum then i am ready.

Have to agree with you, Josh

But, what about a thread or forum for linking to other space-related images in the public domain; especially images which might help stir or clarify someone's idea?

I think there was/is a thread about Hubble's best images, but what is the standing on posting links to other images as described above?

there is both image and links to images on this site
the images have to be hosted by a web site such as
tinypics

[ img]http://tinypic.com/9hmbo9[/img ]

a similar to the above with no spaces between the [ ]

if you stuff up there is always the edit button and the preview button

hi piersdad

the image I had in mind is a NASA image called Earthlights - have you seen it?

it is both beautiful, and gives pause to consider the spread of urban impact - there have been a number of studies done on thermal minima increases in urban environments...

My question is whether posting a link, and saying a few words about it, is okay etiquette here at UT; or whether it would be frowned upon because it is not my own pic, nor strictly a pic of space (it is a compilation of satellite data)...
