Default Unable to access Universe Today website

Since the 6th of January, I've been unable to access the Universe Today website.

In addition, all of the Universe Today newsletters arrive with dead links for the graphics (related to website access problem).

What's going on???

If I do a Traceroute - the path ends at a server belonging to MyNetHost (which appears to be UT's ISP)

All of the rest of the net is accessible!

Works for me: Universe Today

My tracert ends

14 94 ms 98 ms 93 ms AMERICAN-FIB.hsa2.Level3.net [4.79.252.2]
15 95 ms 97 ms 96 ms 206.165.102.34
16 73 ms 72 ms 73 ms unused.mynethost.com [64.207.216.16]

(Which I post mainly to say: hey, what are the woo-woos gonna make of that intermediate hop at "AMERICAN-FIB"?)

I don't get the newsletter, so I can't help you there except to say the dead links makes sense if the site is somehow inaccessible to you.

I can hit both line 14 and 15 with ping and traceroute but when I try that with line 16 (Universe Today's IP) it takes a different route and dead-ends at a router in the NyNetHost domain.

I fired off an email to them in hopes that they can shed some light on the problem. If that doesn't work, I'll light a fire under my ISP.

It's got to be some weird routing error. I've just been assuming that everyone was having a problem - when I checked out the Forum, I didn't see any ref to a problem. So it's apparently not a widespread problem.

The American - FIB is short for American Fiber

It times out on me every time I click on a link. That's been going on for several days now.

I've got a support ticket in with my host provider. It seems to happen for some people, but not others. Very strange problem.

Huh! I guess I'll try getting to the site from another ISP here in a few days.

I too have the same problem. Have not been able to view any Universe Today newsletter images, or follow any newsletter links, for about a week. Also cannot access the UT site. Access to any other site appears to be normal.

Minor correction to my previous post. I cannot follow any newsletter links which connect to the Universe Today site. All other links, to Feedblitz and to this forum, work fine. The problem appears to be related solely to connectivity to UniverseToday.com.

Suddenly, at approx 0330 UT, everything works again. I've got wonderful pictures in UT newsletters and can link directly to the full article. Fantastic! Thanks to those responsible, whoever they were!

Okay great. It took some back and forth with my webhost, but they finally figured out what was wrong.
